DEM Bus – The New Connection System for Railbox XT Vertical
The DEM Bus is the new board‑to‑board connection system developed for the Railbox XT Vertical enclosure series. Designed to offer maximum flexibility in connector selection and full compatibility with the most common DIN rails, it represents an optimal solution for those who need a modular, precise and customizable bus.

The system allows the mounting of a printed circuit board (PCB Bus), preferably single‑sided to meet dielectric strength standards, directly onto DIN rail heights 7.5 mm and 15 mm using Italtronic plastic side hooks and central supports designed to prevent PCB Bus bending during installation.

Unlike solutions offered by other manufacturers, Italtronic does not require the use of proprietary connectors.
You can therefore freely choose:

• the 90° male connector to be mounted on the Railbox XT PCB
• the SMT/PTH female connector to be installed on the PCB Bus
• wire‑to‑pcb or pcb‑to‑pcb connectors for bus input or output

For example, a standard 2×4 pin – 2.54 mm pitch connector is perfectly suitable for connecting the Railbox XT.

The lower opening of the Railbox is custom‑made by Italtronic according to the chosen connector, ensuring correct mechanical alignment between enclosure, PCB and connector.

How to design and order your modular Bus

1. Define whether the PCB Bus should have a single length or different lengths, depending on the number of Railbox XT modules to connect and their width (22.5 mm or 45 mm).
2. Select the input and output connectors based on the required signal type.
   Order the Italtronic side hooks (code: P10150001G).
3. Order the DIN‑rail supports (code P10150003G/P10150002G – h 7.5 mm / h 15 mm), recommended every 45 mm of PCB between the side hooks.
4. Communicate the connector chosen for connection to the Railbox XT, enabling Italtronic to manufacture the customized lower opening of the enclosure.
